Abstract

The electricity market in the Czech Republic was fully liberalized in 2006. This change in the system of electricity market functioning has brought many changes both in the legislative and economic areas, and in relations between electricity suppliers and consumers. Reliability indices limits are to be defined and electricity distribution companies must obey them. One of the possibilities of setting the limits is to use the knowledge of costs incurred by customers due to power outages. In this paper, results of reliability analysis gained by us when applying the theoretical relations to the calculation of costs due to an outage in the real industrial environment of a company dealing with aluminum processing are summarized.
