Abstract

In this paper we describe the design and implementation of a virtual environment for the Division of Basic Sciences and Engineering of the Azcapotzalco Campus of the Metropolitan Autonomous University in Mexico City. The project was started in May, 2005 to meet the need of teachers and students to have a space to place different didactic materials. The virtual environment consists of three main subsystems: CMS for teaching and learning process; virtual evaluation subsystem and virtual resources subsystem. The cbiEnLinea project supports undergraduate and graduate programs, whose main objective is to build a virtual space that will help improving the teaching and learning process. We present the results of the first evaluation of the CMS.
