Communication network, Power Line Carrier, Fiber Optics, Reliability Evaluation
In this paper, a reliability figure for the communication network of 220kV Libyan high voltage subsystem has been evaluated. The schematic diagrams of the communication networks have been presented for both power Line carrier and fiber optics networks. A reliability analysis for the two communication networks has been investigated through the existing communication equipment and the reliability values have been evaluated for both power line carrier and fiber optics systems. A considerable advantages for the fiber optics system have been found.
