Solar energy, solar water heating, performance evaluation
The paper is intended to outline the importance of the development of low-cost indoor testing facilities for short term testing and evaluating of thermal performance and efficiency of domestic Solar Water Heaters (SWHs) produced on the local market. The facilities would be used by the local manufacturers for testing and evaluating the systems and the components at different stages of the manufacturing process. Case studies with results for a typical locally manufactured SWH for both outdoor and indoor tests are presented and compared.
