Three ubiquitous computing applications are surveyed and the analysis results are presented in this paper to reveal that explicit requirements analysis is highly needed in de veloping ubiquitous computing applications; and for ubi comp research projects, cost-effective methods such as on line user surveys can be applied in the requirements anal ysis phase. Methodological requirements engineering sup port is needed in ubicomp research in a long run.
