In this paper, we argue that as advanced data analysis enters into the knowledge discovery age and mobile computing technology continues to mature, a new research area, pervasive knowledge discovery, is on the horizon. We present the technology trends in data processing technologies and mobile computing to justify our idea and several use cases that may drive pervasive knowledge discovery research. Our initial efforts will also be briefly discussed.
