Simulation, Modeling, Virtualization, Operating Systems
Virtualization is being used as a solution which enables several operating system environments to run on a single machine concurrently. It offers better security, availability and utilization of resources. Performance of such “condensed” systems is very important and we propose using recursive simulation to study this. Recursive simulation involves a simulation entity creating instances of itself to represent higher-level entities. We argue that this solution maps onto certain problems in the domain perfectly and helps to manage the enormous complexity of virtualized systems. We look at various issues of this solution.
