Abstract

This paper demonstrates various voltage stability concepts, phenomena and control through simulation examples. The study includes the effects of contingency scenarios to mitigate voltage instability through load shedding, shunt compensation, loss of line, loss of generation, load increases and three phase faults. The results of the studies are necessary information useful for systems operational purposes and for development of the power system.
