paper documents, annotation, augmented reality, camera projector system
The documents become more legible by doing the anno tation. There are some systems that support annotating or reading digital document, but they cannot be applied to physically printed-paper documents. Moreover we are not allowed to write notes in vintage books or books of a library. This paper proposes the system of “Digital Book rest”, which adds the electronic property to the physically printed-papers. The components of the proposed system are a digital camera, a video projector and a pen-shape de vice with LED. The system estimates positions of paper documents and annotated points in the captured image, and overlays annotations onto the real paper document using a video projector. The prototype system was implemented, and experiments are performed to confirm the availability.
