Abstract

The purpose of the study is to analyze and determine the relationship between the primary and secondary parameters of the subsea coaxial cable. Furthermore, the identified equation can be used to evaluate the performance of the subsea coaxial cable. For example, the identified equations can be used for designing the subsea channel model on any appropriate software (eg: MATLAB). Therefore, the performance of the subsea coaxial cable can be evaluated. In overall, the study will contribute towards the future development and enhancement of the subsea coaxial cable. The paper presents about the analysis of the subsea coaxial cable. These cables are commonly used in telecommunication industry and, oil and gas industry. Furthermore, this cable is unlike a filter circuit, which is a “lumped network” as individual components appear as discrete items. In overall, the study has been conducted using the transmission line theory to analyze and determine the relationship between the primary and secondary parameters of the subsea coaxial cable.
