Web-based distance education, Intelligent Tutoring System, Learner Profile, and Data mining
With the rapid development of modern information technology and spreading of World Wide Web, the web based distance education is the development current of distance education. Many researchers introduced the ITS (Intelligent Tutoring System) to implement the distance education and make the computer more intelligent. The computers can act as teachers to tutor and help learners according to the character of learners. This article gives the architecture of the ITS, and concretely researches the analysis of the learner profile. We adopts the data mining technology and the ID3 arithmetic to help obtain the learn profile, and gains the learners’ status timely teaches students in accordance of their aptitude.
