finite element method, piezoelectric transducers, electric and elastic fields
The paper describes an application of FEM in modelling of spatial distributions of electric and elastic fields in piezo electric transducers. It includes FEM formulation based on physical description of piezoelectric continuum and ap plication of the model. From the practical point of view, the practical application of transducers is limited by manu facturing technologies. Elastic stress is induced during the poling of transducers. Elastic stress can initiate structural defects in transducer. The main results are spatial distribu tions of electric and elastic fields after transducer’s poling.
