Abstract

Improving productivity is primary goal when designing workplaces and tasks. As industrial workplaces and manual tasks are being developed, designers can bring human factors into the design process sooner to ensure maximum worker productivity. This study details the synergistic application of ergonomic analysis, discrete process simulation, and multi-response optimization to the problems of determining the optimum design for liminations stacking workstation in a water pump assembly line. The study comprised attention to analysis of facilities, tooling system and ergonomic workplace design. More importantly, this can have a devastating impact on safety, quality, and cost
