Abstract

In this article a user friendly software interface from Maple to Matlab that takes the best of each software language is presented. The interface serves to link some Maple’s sym bolic output files with the Optimization ToolBox of Matlab to facilitate to deal with usual but complicated optimiza tion procedures. That is, the interface permits to deal easily with a complex optimization problem, consisting of an ob jective function and constraints, which can be created and treated in symbolic form by Maple and then be solved with the effective numerical methods built in Matlab.
