Abstract

A new steel-making process is introduced. For the last 10 years many research groups in the world have taken up the idea of strip casting and built laboratory and prototype plants for the casting of steel by the twin-roll process. Thereby the performance of the molten steel height control becomes very important for the strip-quality. For the nice signal-processing algorithm a new method using image data has been applied. The system works under VME based configuration. This paper summarizes the signal processing method of the molten steel height using CCD camera in the strip casting process.
