A three phase induction motor can be controlled as a direct current motor using field flux orientation principles by controlling produced torque and field flux separately. Modelled in a stator reference frame, a three phase induction motor is simulated using Matlab/Simulink 5.3 version and analysed. With direct torque control torque errors can be reduced, thereby improving motor performances.
