Abstract

The main subject of this work is the measurement and control of the melt temperature in an injection-molding cavity. For this purpose, thermocouple sensors were designed and located at different positions of the cavity. These are adjustable thermocouples, and they were installed at five depths across the cavity thickness and from the surface of the movable plate. A feedforward feedback control system was implemented to control the average cavity peak melt temperature.
