Fractional Systems, Fractional Calculus,Sliding Mode Control.
: This paper presents a variable structure control technique for systems of (fractional) non-integer order. The fractional systems could represent a Newtonian or non-Newtonian motion of some physical systems. The novelty of this approach is in the generalization of the sliding mode control to include time-variant fractional systems. The linear matrix inequality is applied and the reachability condition is used to select proper sliding manifolds. Several examples are included to illustrate the main ideas of this work.
