Content management, standardization, metadata, Internet based educational and training systems.
This paper describes the design and development of a demonstrator for educational content management. The goal was to gain insight in engineering educational content by using the latest (educational) standards (ADL SCORM) and an open (web) environment from the perspective of reuse and tailorability of content. The result is a repository of learning objects that has functionalities for submitting, managing and using such objects in learning management systems. This research is part of the GigaPort project (www.gigaport.nl), carried out by the Telematica Instituut (www.telin.nl), which addresses application development for Next Generation Internet.
