Abstract

The issue of accreditation is one that all institutions face. Whether it is university-wide or single program accreditation, regular record keeping is a necessity. This paper discusses a number of areas in which maintaining documentation is required for most accreditation bodies, including curriculum, faculty credentials, mission, assessment and planning, and student performance. In addition to reviewing the documentation that should be maintained, suggestions for developing a documentation plan are included. The use of technology to assist and the author's recent experiences with the accreditation process are also discussed.
