Learning objects, components, e-learning
The process of teaching students and the mode of learning remained unchanged for almost three millennia. However, the influences of modern information technology already altered the process of learning and will do so even more in future. In this paper we show how well-established techniques such as component-based design – already known from software engineering – can be used to streamline the creation of teaching and learning material. A brief look at existing standardization efforts reveals that a formal specification of pre- and post-conditions for each learning module is still at large.
