Web-based education, online degree programs, information technology, computer science.
While the growth in employment of all occupations in the U.S. Information Technology (IT) industry between 1996 2006 is projected at 88.25%, the growth of college/university IT and Computer Science (CS) faculty is only projected at 18.3% [1, 2]. These findings motivated faculty of several U.S. educational institutions to propose the National Science Foundation (NSF) CCLI-EMD project that is aimed on a design a development of several IT and Computer Science (CS) undergraduate online degree programs in the US colleges and universities.
