Sound source position identification systems are often used in many telecommunication areas. Numerous approaches to this task were developed. Usually such systems are based on digital signal processing technology and are computationally intensive. This paper presents one of alternative methods implementing intelligent neural network–based decision module. The method effectiveness was tested with various types and structures of multilayer neural networks. The obtained results are discussed in the paper.
