Abstract

Color constancy is very relevant for computer vision. On the basis of Hering’s six basic colors, the concept of color constancy is implemented on a computer. The approach is geometric, in RGB space and uses barycentric coordinates. The main purpose in designing this program is to allow for the standardization of digital images taken under diverse types of illumination. The system has applications in automatic product evaluation in agroindustry. It works fine for the stated purpose, provided the chromatic contents of the image is sufficiently varied.
