Abstract

In a class room of colleges or universities, a roll sheet is circulated for each student to sign each name as the attendance confirmation. However, it takes much time until all students complete the circulation, and there may be a student who writes a fake signature for his absent friend. The purposes of an attendance confirmation are to increase the volition for attendance, to decrease useless time during a class, and to obtain the number of attendance for distributing handouts. The existing personal identification equipments using hand images are not suitable for the attendance confirmation, because it is necessary for users to input identification number from the 10-key board, and it takes much time to strictly fix finger positions at the time of the hand image input. This paper investigates about the attendance confirmation method using hand images.
