There are a number of approaches which apply the DWT (Discrete Wavelet Transform) on image coding. In this approach higher compression rate causes blocky noise to the reconstructed image by the effect of quantizing the low band. To overcome the faults, we propose the multi scan ning approach for improving the quality on reconstruction from the compressed image. By implementing the proposed method to DWT, the experimental results show that a better quality is obtained for image reconstruction.
