In this paper, we propose a linear adaptive MMSE receiver using a hidden training sequence. A training sequence which is imposed to the informative sequence is used for the adaptive implementation. The MMSE receiver whose tap weight vector is composed of the canonical representa tion is also proposed to make the convergence speed faster than that of the detector just using a hidden training se quence without the canonical representation. The simu lation results show that the performance of the proposed receiver is better than those of the MMSE receiver with a training sequence and the blind MOE receiver.
