Abstract

Hypermedia is all about structure. Links represent just one type of structure, navigational. Modern hypermedia systems provide support for additional types of structures (hypermedia domains) as well including spatial, taxonomic, and argumentation. This paper examines the user interface challenges of providing support for multiple hypermedia domains inside Web browsers. A framework for investigating the user interface challenges is presented. The framework is used to guide and evaluate a series of experiments targeting the user interface challenges of multiple hypermedia domains.
