Internet applications, CORBA, application serviceproviders, parallel computing
Concordia Parallel Programming Environment (CPPE) is a comprehensive tool for the developing and performance tuning of parallel programs on various parallel systems. It was implemented in C for better performance. In this paper we demonstrate how we can use CORBA to transform CPPE from a standalone application to one suitable for server hosting with minimal modification to the CPPE source code. The technology illustrated by this adaptation can be used to support smooth transition of the IT industries from traditional in-house computing to application-service-provider model of computing accessible globally through the Internet.
