Abstract

Web Service and grid computing were developed for different goals. However, two technologies address the same problem, coordinated resource sharing and problem solving in dynamic, multi-institutional virtual organizations. The Computational Web Service (CWS) is a new idea of using Web Services as a grid infrastructure technology. Although current CWS has its own pool service which is a broker between workers and CWS, it is not resource-efficient if pool service is included in CWS system. In this paper, we present more general Pool Web Service (PWS) independent of CWS and its scheduling strategies.
