Packet based routing, Quality of Service, ReinforcementLearning, Cognitive Packet Networks
In this paper, we discuss the Cognitive Packet Networks concept, a packet switching network in which intelligent control for routing is exercised under greater control of the user connections with the help of “smart packets”, rather than being completely left to nodes and routing ta bles. CPN provides a reliable packet network infrastructure which incorporates packet loss and delay directly into user quality of service criteria, and uses these and other criteria to conduct routing. We present the QoS based routing algo rithm that we have designed and implemented, and report on extensive measurements related to the route setup time.
