WWW, GIS, Three-Tiered application
This paper presents a Web-Based Geographic Information System (GIS) Road Closure Information System that integrates two independent technologies GIS and WWW together for the purpose of allowing users to access highway network information and display selected state/region maps with the highways and road closure information. The system is designed and implemented using a three-tier model. Java, JavaScript, DHTML, HTML, Java Servlet and MapXtreme were used to develop this application.
