Abstract

This paper describes the application of discrete-event simulation to the study of supply chain dynamics. The purpose is to understand how different decisions could affect the dynamics of a packaging industry supply chain. A summary on the design of a conceptual model, and the designing and development of an implementation model of a packaging industry supply chain associated to ARENA simulation language is presented. The model verification and validation activities are discussed. Simulation examples are included to illustrate the application of this approach.
