Applications using computer graphics sometimes re quire powerful computational power and intense rendering capability. In particular, multi-screen stereo systems need synchronization mechanism among different screens. In most multi-screen applications, powerful graphics workstations have been used for this purpose. This makes systems expensive and hampers the wide spread of such systems, even though potential attention is very high. In this paper, we propose IBM-PC based multi-screen sys tem ’RiMS’ which realizes inter-screen synchronization using software communicating through parallel ports.
