We describe the software environment of a simulation ap pliance we have realized for the automotive industry. The hardware platform is a cluster of high-end PCs’ running under the control of the Linux operating system. The solution is based on open source components. The configuration of the environment is simple but flexible so it can be easily adapted to different situations with minimum effort.
