Hybrid system, modeling, manufacturing systems
We present an object-oriented modeling framework for manufacturing systems. This is motivated by the need to decompose such complex processes into their major elements and to represent them as hybrid systems. The modeling process divides the manufacturing system into objects which are described by three submodels: object, dynamic, and functional. The dynamic submodel contains the hybrid system description through a hybrid automaton and a Petri-net. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach.
