Virtual Service Center: A Closed Form Model for Crossbar-based Multiprocessor

Interconnection network has important role in performance of a multiprocessor. Crossbar switch is the most complex, expensive and yet highest performance. In this paper an analytical model is proposed for crossbar based multiprocessor. Queuing theory and Jackson network are used to analyze the model. Two novel points in this model, which were not considered in previous model, are non-uniform pattern in memory reference and dependency between memory queues. Some performance metrics are computed on basis of the model and the tradeoff between different parameter of system is discussed.
