Abstract

To study the behaviour of mobile host's location with respect to user response and system update parameters, a simulation of two-tier database architecture on a packet switched wireless network was designed and implemented. Each mobile host has employed the timer based update scheme. Using this, and varying parameters such as paging costs, mobile movement rate and distance costs, various interesting results was obtained and discussed, highlighting major characteristics of the architecture and correctness of the simulation.
