Abstract

In the last years, multidimensional databases have become a very popular topic because of its applications such as data warehousing and scientific computing. Visualization techniques can help to deal with data in more intuitive way. Although visualization of multidimensional data is a well-established area of research, visual querying of multidimensional data is still a very challenging subject. This paper describes querying of multidimensional data that can be interpreted geometrically as multidimensional points. A query window is a query solid of any shape specified by its location. Queries are formulated with geometric objects and operations over them. The geometric objects and operations are described with implicit functions. The process of query specification is visualized.
