The aim of proposed paper is to present the magnetic phenomena in magnetic head for non-destructive testing of steel wire rope. The discussion will take about magnetic flux density distribution and induced eddy currents in magnetic head as in wire rope. These two phenomena are used to diagnose the properties of steel wire rope. Measuring set-up based on theoretical founds will be also presented. Furthermore, the measured results will be also discussed.
