Abstract

In this paper specifications for a new vehicle power train are proposed. The study starts from the results of some tests made on an EV driven in the urban traffic of Rome. Data acquired were catalogued in order to define two different topologies of urban traffic: one at a high-speed and one at a low-speed. The study of these cycles demonstrates the differences between real urban drive and standard driving cycles used by vehicle designers. Starting from real driving cycles results, specifications for an Electric and a Hybrid Vehicle are defined.
