A Review of Simulation Models Developed for Solar Air Heaters

In this work a review in the various models which simulate the performance of solar air collectors, is made. The methodology for the simulation analysis of solar air heaters is based on two approaches. The energy balance and the electric equivalent. The two approaches are tested for two types of collectors. In the one type the air flows between the glass cover and the absorber surface, while in the second type the air flows between the absorber plate and the insulation back. It is proposed a general electric equivalent model for both types of solar air heaters and the results of collector performance are compared with those from the other simulation models.
