Abstract

Methods of robust and transparent image watermarking which can be applied as a copyright protection, or distribution tracking are proposed. These methods are robust against various attacks, including the StirMark random geometric attack, which is known to be difficult to combat. Our methods classify the image into high and low texture blocks by considering their edges, then embed the watermark in the DC coefficients of their DCT. The watermark can be embedded in the low or high texture blocks alone. In the detection process, the distortion vector for the high texture blocks is searched to find the correct watermarked blocks. The experimental results show both the high robustness and imperceptibility.
