Abstract

Public key cryptography is widely used to provide security services. The PKI is the infrastructure that supports the public key cryptography and the revocation of certificates implies one of its major costs. In this paper we review the main revocation policies proposed and we evaluate its behavior in wireless environments, with low bandwidth and limited processing and storage capacity at the client side. Finally, we propose a modification over OCSP in order to adapt it to the wireless scenario.
