V-BLAST, DFE, equalization, loading, Tomlinson-Harashima precoding, MIMO channels
In this paper we consider transmission over MIMO channels with channel state information available at the transmitter. This enables the use of precoding as well as an optimization of rate and power distribution over the parallel subchannels in the transmission system. We show that in the case of so-called loading, equalization by the V-BLAST algorithm does not lead to the optimum performance. A revised detection algorithm is given, which performs an optimized sorting for systems with loading. Simulation results are presented that underline the performance improvements possible.
