Adaptive Array Antenna (AAA), CCM-SMI, Radial Basis Function (RBF), WCDMA.
In this paper, we propose an adaptive array antenna based on the Radial Basis Function (RBF) network as a multiuser detection for WCDMA systems. The conventional array antenna system calculates the weight using the MF output signals. On the other hand, our proposed system calculates the weight using the RBF network output signal. Radial Basis Function is a kind of neural networks. It is a highly interconnected network of relatively simple processing units that operate in parallel, so it can provide high computational processing with simple nonlinear processors. Due to its massive parallelism and robustness, it can achieves high performance for channel tracking in multiuser case. Therefore, our proposed system obtains more accurate channel response vector using RBF output signal than that of the conventional CCM-SMI based on the matched filter. The performance is evaluated in term of bit error probability. From the simulation results, it is shown that our proposed scheme achieves better BER performance than those of the conventional systems.
