Frequency offset, CRB, fading channels.
The sample autocorrelation function has historically played a big role in determining the frequency offset in the AWGN environment. Most estimators available in the literature have some kind of combination of this function. Although, some analysis has already been done in the flat fading case, in this correspondence, we take a simplistic different view of the effects of this particular communication environment on the frequency estimation via the sample autocorrelation function. Comparisons with the AWGN case are also given.
