GPSHMEM, SHMEM, Parallel Programming Tools
In this work we have ported application kernels from the SPLASH-2 benchmark suite using GPSHMEM. We have determined their performance on parallel systems. We show that GPSHMEM can provide a portability vehicle for applications to a variety of platforms and the performance is in line with what is expected from the available hardware platforms utilized. Porting the SHMEM based SPLASH-2 codes to GPSHMEM was very straightforward. Extensions from the base GPSHMEM implementation and future ef forts for the library are also discussed.
