Abstract

ATLAS is a software development platform that tries to minimize the learning effort that it imposes on develop ers, giving them access to its features without loading them with specific constraints, requirements or lengthy addi tional code to write. In this paper we discuss the support for distributed applications in ATLAS, and the strategies used to make all aspects of this distribution as transparent as pos sible for the developer, so that braking his application in modules that are then scattered throughout his local area network entails minimal extra effort.
