Abstract

Distributed array datatype, called DARRAY, was intro duced in the MPI-2 specification. Its definition is inherited from a data structure set defined in higher level languages. Although communicating a DARRAY between different process topologies is known as data-redistribution, general solutions have not been provided from MPI-2. In this paper, data transferring between different distributed arrays, data redistribution, is designed and implemented. Preliminary experiments for two-dimensional arrays are also re ported.
